Reduce your rent with key tenant discounts

How Housing Perks Can Offset the Rent Increase

We expect the average rent increase to be around £5.45 per week. The Key Tenant Scheme can help you reduce your Rent Increase (or even turn it into a Rent Decrease), but if you are already receiving your maximum Rent Discount, Housing Perks is another way to bring down your overall outgoings to offset your Rent Increase.

Below is a table of the UK average spend for the average UK household (from the Office for National Statistics) and the potential savings once Housing Perks is taken into account:

So, as you can see, using Housing Perks discounts could save you more than twice the rent increase. At the moment, around 100 companies offer discounts through Housing Perks, with discounts ranging from 2% right up to 50%. New retailers join all the time, and the level of discount can also change, so download the app and keep checking it to see the savings you could be making.

Key Tenant Scheme

If you are already receiving a Bronze or Gold Key Tenant Rent Discount, now is the time to upgrade further. The table below shows the difference upgrading can make. For a tenant not currently receiving any Rent Discounts, upgrading to Platinum actually reduces the rent paid by 1.2%. Or, for a Bronze Key Tenant, upgrading to Platinum reduces the increase to just 0.7%, whilst upgrading to Gold reduces the increase to 2.5% (the same for anyone upgrading from Gold Key Tenant to Platinum), well below inflation.

So, what are you waiting for? Just login to your My Home account and click on the Key Tenant Scheme box to find out more.

The table shows the increase to the average monthly rent of £549.90.
