What is Scottish Housing Day?
Scottish Housing Day is about celebrating the impact that housing makes to the lives of people and communities across Scotland, as well as communicating to people about their housing options.
This is the fifth year of celebrating housing in Scotland with Scottish Housing Day. This year the main focus is the value of social housing. We all know a safe, secure, warm, good quality, affordable home is vital to wellbeing, something that’s been particularly important during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Last year, Housing Officer, Brian Parkin, and Customer Information Officer, Mary Hargreaves, took part in a coffee morning at Bleachingfields in Dunbar, something that’s not an option this year, so instead we’re celebrating coming together through digital communication and engagement, our expanding housing stock from new builds, and the care and attention a great many tenants take with their gardens, from large communal spaces to tiny flower pots.
