Healthy Happy Homes

Vision

Published: 26/08/2013

Today we have launched our new Vision – Healthy Happy Homes – which we will use to guide the way our business develops into the future.

Our Chief Executive, Martin Pollhammer explained:

"I'm really excited to be launching our new Vision.  It has been over a year in development, and absolutely draws a line under all we have done to date, setting instead a new course for our future.  As we are currently celebrating our 25th anniversary, there could not be a more appropriate time to do this – we’ve had a fantastic 25 years, but now it's time to do something different."

Using the Vision, everything we do, now and in the future, will need to contribute in some way to delivering Healthy Happy Homes.  If it does not, resources will be redirected elsewhere.

Martin continued:

"The Vision is, of course, aspirational – that’s the whole point.  But it’s also not rocket science – what it does is set out, on one side of A4 paper, our Vision, our key services and our core values – to be Professional, Honest, Reliable and Friendly.  It sweeps away all the bureaucracy and the rather condescending nature of our previous mission statements, objectives and guiding standards, and replaces them with something fresh and straightforward, identifiable to our tenants, service users, staff and anyone else who takes an interest in our business."

"There are so many ways in which this Vision is relevant to our business, but an example in how it is already guiding us is our unique "ELHA Assistance Scheme" which we developed in response to the so-called "Bedroom Tax".  We thought about the impacts on those that were to be affected – doing something practical to offset the worst impacts has clear parallels to health and happiness.  So it became a priority for us to do something, and that’s the same sort of decision making process we will use in the future."

The new Vision is the focus of our 2013 annual report, which is available to download
