On 7 September at 3pm the national Emergency Alert system will be tested. This will send an alert to all mobile phones on 4G and 5G.
Your mobile phone (or tablet) may:
- Make a siren sound, even if it is set on silent
- Buzz or vibrate
- Announce that an emergency alert is in progress
When you get an alert, stop what you’re doing and follow the instructions on the alert.
