Ground Source Heat Pumps

Most of the properties at The Hedges use ground source heating which uses a heat pump to extract heat from the ground (deep underground the temperature remains constant regardless of the season).  This pump is powered by electricity, so runs on mains electricity. When your solar panels are generating they will supplement the mains electricity to power the heat pump.
